Mechanism of Action

  2. Angiogenesis: Promotes the formation of new blood vessels and increases blood flow to the wound area.

Treatment Process and Dosage

  • Application Method: The medicine is injected directly into the wound site. Injections are planned depending on the size and depth of the wound.

  • Treatment Duration: It is usually applied 3 times a week and the duration of treatment can vary between 5-8 weeks.

  • Dosage: Doses containing 75 µg rhEGF per injection are used. The total dose is adjusted according to the size of the wound and the clinical condition of the patient.

  • Wound Care: Wound care and infection control are important during treatment. It can be combined with antibiotics and other supportive therapies.

Side Effects and Safety

HEBERPROT-P® is generally well tolerated, but some side effects may occur:

  • Mild Side Effects:

    • Pain, redness or swelling at the injection site.

    • Mild fever or chills.

  • Serious Side Effects (Rarely):

    • Allergic reactions (itching, rash, shortness of breath).

    • Risk of infection (at the site of application).

Side effects are usually mild and temporary. In case of serious side effects, treatment should be stopped and a doctor should be consulted.

Contraindications and Precautions

HEBERPROT-P® should not be used in the following cases:

  • AllergyIf you have a known allergy to rhEGF or other components of the medicine.

  • Cancer: Epidermal growth factor should be used with caution in patients with a history of cancer as it may stimulate the growth of cancer cells.

Precautions:

  • The wound should be assessed for infection before treatment.
